What Are the Benefits of Remodeling Your Bathroom?

Bathrooms and Kitchens are the first areas most homeowners target for renovation when looking to increase the value of their home. Especially if you’re living in an old construction and are looking to update not only your plumbing but also the basic look of your bathrooms or washrooms.

Your renovation can start with simply changing the existing installations in your bathroom i.e. shower cabin, shower columns, sink and sink furniture units, etc. It could extend to a larger project where you dismantle all installations and redo the tiling as well before fitting in more modern products. You can go even further by enlarging your bathroom to create more space for comfort.

Planning any bathroom project requires a great deal of planning and careful consideration of fixtures and materials. Abilect is your ideal partner to accompany you in your bathroom renovation projects. Contact us for a quotation for your bathroom renovation. You can renovate your bathroom in the following ways:

Basic renovation:

A basic renovation of a bathroom can be a small project as replacing the existing installations with new and updated models. It can also be a slightly larger project of replacing the tiling (floor and walls) along with the installations. However, with basic bathroom renovation projects, we generally install everything in its original place – we do not undertake any major plumbing modifications, nor do we undertake any major installation changes i.e. we would replace a bathtub for a bathtub and not install it a shower in its place.

General renovation:

A general bathroom renovation is the same as a basic bathroom renovation with the added feature of potentially undertaking plumbing modifications or replacing installations with a different type of installation. Examples of this would include replacing a bathtub with a shower, installing an Italian-style shower, and updating a toilet that is installed with evacuation into the ground with one that is suspended on a wall.

A general bathroom renovation could also include expanding the bathroom by demolishing walls in order to create more space and thereby allowing us to undertake a complete redesign of the bathroom as well.

Construction of a bathroom:

Usually done during a full renovation of a house, you can also choose to construct a bathroom by repurposing an existing space i.e. converting a closet into a half-bath, or creating a whole new space to build an additional bathroom or add a bathroom to a floor that didn’t have one previously.

Naturally, this type of project is a much more expensive undertaking than than of a basic or general renovation – details such as the locations of the internal plumbing system of the house will also play a role in determining the final cost of the project.
